eircomeircom Group the only Irish Operator Currently Supporting  4G on iPhone 5

customers with 4G supported models of iPhone will be able to connect to eircom Group’s 4G network.

eircom Group is currently the only Irish operator supporting 4G on the iPhone 5 through its Meteor and eMobile brands. We are also offering the iPhone 5s and 5C.

The newest iPhone 5s and 5c models will operate fully across the Meteor and eMobile 4G coverage areas. In addition, the original iPhone 5 will connect to the 4G network in larger urban areas (Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway)*

“We are delighted to offer 4G to even more customers and the addition of the iPhone to our Meteor and eMobile 4G range is a huge boost to our consumers and business customers, who can avail of these top of the range phones just in time for Christmas. We are also very pleased to say that we are currently the only Irish operator supporting 4G on the iPhone 5 – which is a big advantage for our customers given that most people are iPhone 5 users . 4G is now available on Meteor and eMobile in more places, with more devices, than any other network in Ireland,” said Niall Dorrian, Director of Mobile, eircom Group.

*Due to the manufacturer’s settings, the original iPhone 5 will only connect to 4G via 1800MHz spectrum.  eircom has deployed 4G using 1800MHz in larger urban areas (Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway) as well as 800MHz in more rural settings.
