Avanade teams with Scrum.org to improve software development
To help customers with their most complex and globally distributed projects in an age of constant technology evolution, Avanade, a global business technology and managed services company, is teaming with Scrum.org, an industry thought leader dedicated to advancing the profession of software development. This unique relationship will allow both companies to improve the software development landscape through knowledge sharing, education, and industry recognised certification for Avanade’s agile professionals worldwide.
“At Avanade, we believe in improving the profession of software development. We also believe having collaborative global teams that do more than just talk about Scrum and agile, but live it every day, creates a stronger environment which enables our people to deliver more value to customers. Our relationship with Scrum.org strengthens our ability to contribute unique capabilities and share in the same vision, while fostering agility and transparency within Avanade and on behalf of our customers,” said John-Paul Edwards, Avanade Senior Vice President, Global Delivery.
“We believe a key ingredient to success is providing our employees with a comprehensive training curriculum and formal certification programmes which allow us to offer enterprise-level agile to customers,” added Edwards.
To that end, Avanade has licensed the Professional Scrum Developer training and 11 of its best agile practitioners have become Professional Scrum Trainers with Scrum.org. These Professional Scrum Trainers are part of an elite, international community of consultants, coaches, respected authors, conference presenters, and user group leaders. Collectively, they mentor Avanade employees and key customer stakeholders to drive strong business results.
Scrum.org plays a critical role in guiding Avanade along its ‘path to agility’. By collaborating closely and applying Scrum.org’s Agility Path™ within Avanade, the company is able to continuously improve its development practices. The Agility Path™ framework firmly implants an evidence-based management culture within Avanade, further enhancing its ability to deliver value to customers.
“Scrum.org’s collaboration with Avanade commits us to work together within the values and principles of the Agile Manifesto, and the values of Scrum: commitment, courage, focus, openness, and respect. As we have brought these values to our customers, we now create a similar bond between our organiations. I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship. Avanade is surely working to improve the profession of software development,” said Ken Schwaber, co-creator of Scrum and CEO of Scrum.org.
